Building Inspections

Setting the standard in building inspections for over 20 years

When you’re thinking of buying a property you should consider calling a building inspector first. Building inspectors are qualified and knowledgeable industry experts, who are committed to seeking out and highlighting any potential problems that may be found within the construction or design of a property. Besides, you, the purchaser, have too much at stake to entrust a building inspection to unqualified, unscrupulous building inspectors. For the utmost in peace of mind, call us today to organise an inspection on a property you’re thinking of acquiring.

Who can operate as a building inspector?

There are restrictions on who can conduct pre-purchase building inspections, commencing January 1, 2001. Building inspectors in Queensland must be licensed with the Building Services Authority and we recommend that you:
  • Deal only with reputable, specialist building inspectors, not part timers.
  • Ensure that they are specifically trained in this area.
  • Ensure they are independent of real estate agents to avoid a conflict of interest
  • Check that they have Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance. Otherwise, this could be costly for you if you had to make a claim for damages or losses.
  • Check that they are registered with the Queensland Building & Construction Commission, and that they are members of the Master Builders Association and/or Housing Industry Association.
  • Ask if they are happy to meet you on site and discuss their findings with you
  • Don’t let price be the governing factor. With Guidance we'll assure you pay a fair price and we guarantee the ultimate in service.
